On Monday, February 14th, Guishem showcased their Fall/Winter 2011 Presentation at the Box at Lincoln Center from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm during New York’s Fashion Week. Guillemo Jop, the Guatemala based designer, drew his inspiration from Brooklyn artist Walt Cassidy’s artwork in his premiere solo exhibition last April, “The Protective Motif”. In Jop’s vivid imagination, his designs portray a woman who transforms into a superhero to save the defenseless against the tyranny of pirates.
Wool, jacquards, viscose and power net flow seamlessly together to transcend the boundaries of the designer’s imagination and come to life on the runway.
