The New Face of G-Star

RAW Elegance—this is the theme of G-Star’s new Spring/Summer 2011 global advertising campaign, and this is why actress Gemma Arterton so perfectly embodies the modern G-Star woman.

On screen, the British actress has articulately displayed her multifaceted persona—her flawless ability to remain true to her working class roots, all the while soaring to new heights of success based on her leading roles in Hollywood blockbusters such as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Clash of the Titans.Arterton’s poised and confident appearance paired with her genuine femininity combine to create the perfect compilation of character that is necessary as the face of G-Star’s global advertising campaign.  The campaign features conflicting elements and unexpected influences—chic and RAW, street and luxury, denim and silk—to create something new and innovative, much like Gemma Arterton herself.

The Spring/Summer 2011 global advertising campaign will also once more feature Magnus Carlsen, a man who beat the entire world during G-Star’s RAW World Chess Challenge last September.  Currently, Carlsen is preparing himself for international tournaments, such as the Amber Chess Tournament 2011 in Monaco, while working to increase chess’ popularity among the public.

G-Star’s Spring/Summer 2011 campaign will go live in store windows, in magazines and on the streets in Febuary 2011.  Look HERE to track developments concerning the campaign as they unfold in the upcoming weeks.
